For your convenience and to minimize the need for staff to visit your site, we offer time-saving services to our customers. 

Care Factor Tape Rotation Services assists you by completing one or all following ‘occurrences’ in a single rotation:

  • Remove media from tape library(s) in customer suite as directed by client email instruction
  • Store media at a Care Factor co-location site
  • Send media offsite to client preferred supplier (set up by client)
  • Receive media from offsite supplier
  • Insert media in client Library(s) as directed by client email instruction 

Note: Tape Rotations are normally completed daily between 8:00AM and 11:00AM with pick-ups from external data storage organizations beginning at 11:30AM Monday to Friday, inclusive, except Statutory Holidays.

Care Factor offers a Remote Hands service to co-location customers. We offer you the ability to complete certain tasks without the need to physically be in the data centre.

Requests will normally be fulfilled within one business day, while emergency requests will be prioritized and initiated within two hours. With remote hands, our trained technicians assist in some the following services:

  • Server re-boot
  • Visual Surveillance / Observation
  • Data Backup
  • Equipment Installation
  • Shipping and Receiving of Equipment
Remote Hands Services are 'a la carte' and can be added or removed to match your changing requirements.

Examples may include:

  • Install customer equipment, systems and peripherals into racks
  • On-site visual surveillance (when requested) to check system or device status
  • Reboot system or power cycle
  • Perform tape changes on backup tape drives or other media changes

walk throughData Centre Physical Inspection

Should you incur extra traffic from your personnel, a physical inspection or "walk through" gives our co-location customers a visual confirmation that their data centre is safe, equipment is secure, and functioning normally

Our Walk Through Service is especially useful to customers who may have outsourced consultants requiring frequent access.  A report is then generated and emailed based on an agreed timeline (daily or weekly etc.).

Examples may include:

  • Validation of biometrics access card system
  • All PDU's are powered/operational
  • Note any visible equipment failures in all racks (red/amber lights, audible beeping etc.)
  • New equipment delivery, boxes etc.
  • Garbage/unsafe or untidy areas 

Note: Walk Through's are available during regular business hours Monday to Friday (excluding weekends, holidays).
