Next Steps & Additional Services

Commissioning

Care Factor will participate in the commissioning of the Data Centre once construction is largely complete to ensure the quality of your facility.  We pride ourselves on making sure the work is done correctly and within the scope of work.

Budget Finalization

We will finalize the overall budget and vendor/product recommendations including stakeholders and team members.  Not only does this help you in coordinating activities and/or resources, you will be able to accurately plan for the future and possible growth.

Construction Consultation

We provide site reports listing construction deviations, with required action plans to be performed by the general contractor to restore the intended computer room design.

Functional Design

Data Centre Design

A Functional design is used to assesses the business requirements and capabilities of the current data centre, or a proposed new environment.

We clearly define your business and IT requirements for the conceptual design, including:
  • Summary of future business needs
  • Environmental room characteristics/constraints
  • Reliability & expected growth with power and cooling

This also includes a review of available existing plans for a new data centre, additions to current facilities, and a number of other criteria:
  • Assessment
  • Reliability Level Definition
  • Equipment Inventory
  • Power Requirements
  • Cooling Requirements
  • Fundamental Room Design
  • Cabling
  • Analysis
  • Report
  • Working with engineers to complete specifications

Technical Specifications

Technical Guidlines ensure that the product selections meet the customer needs as defined in the Functional design and the facility is built to original specifications.

Technical specifications will include, (but are not limited to), the following items:
  • Electrical systems
  • Mechanical Systems
  • Air Quality
  • Fire Detection and Protection Systems
  • Security
  • Cable Management
  • Room Layout
  • Perimeter Integrity
  • Location

Facility Audits

Items for assessment in a computer room audit:

  • Power distribution (load necessity, electrical current layout, and physical layout)
  • Air conditioning (air balancing, air quality, air flow, and air distribution)
  • Fire protection units
  • Emergency power
  • Backup power (UPS)
  • Cleaning, monitoring, security, and floor plan
