Care Factor “Chips Away" at Hunger
Posted by Scott Sargent on Thu, Sep 15, 2011
On Wednesday August 24, 2011 Care Factor held a client/partner appreciation golf tournament at the well-groomed Inglewood Golf & Curling Club. Despite sweltering temperatures, golfers 'stayed the course', chatting, joking and having fun, then walked away with a smile knowing their industry was in good hands.
The real winner of the day is a charity we value highly, the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank. Organized by our own Michele Meston, the 'Chip Away at Hunger' game raised funds throughout the day.
Also, through some impromtu donation/prize auctions at the dinner our staff, clients, and partners helped bring in a total of $1950.00 in cash!
To round out the funds, Care Factor's President & CEO, Ecky, added a matching
contribution for a grand total of $3900.00! According to the Food Bank spokesman this donation will allow them to buy almost $15,000.00 of food (retail value) for the program. Well done!
It is also important to acknowledge our excellent volunteers and the tireless staff at Inglewood Golf Course who assisted both during and after the golf portion. Most importantly-to our clients and partners throughout the year-we would like to say a very big "Thank you very much for your support". The feedback was exceptionally positive and a great time was had by all! We're already looking forward to next year!
